gabriel palmer thompson is a new york based analog photographer who grew up in the small pacific northwest town of bellingham, washington. his early interests were literature and philosophy. he left school out of boredom and rebellion when he was seventeen and pursued street art and poetry.
he is a self-taught photographer who took to the camera with an automatic gift. his work is informed by his early and continuing passion for philosophy and literature-specifically phenomenology and its focus on the subjective experiential quality of the world that reveals itself and its focus on communication through mood.
he employs photography’s ability to communicate mood and express the common language of one’s own inner poetry. his photographs make permanent the fleeting moments of everyday lives and surroundings from around the world.
